Wedding: Wright-Miller

(Full wedding might still be available for viewing. Request access from me via my contact page.)

What a sweet couple, and what a memorable day! The wedding was held in a historic 1800s Lutheran Church (now the town's museum/history center), with a distinctly rustic appeal. It was full of charm. Hannah, who grows all her own flowers, made all the bridesmaid's flower bouquets, except for her own.

After the ceremony, we all headed just a couple of blocks to the reception hall, where they had an old manual cider press, and wedding-goers were all pitching in cutting and pressing the apples to make their own fresh apple cider to fill the big clay mason jar punch bowl.

The dinner was potluck; and what a generous bunch of people! I've never seen so much food for a crowd that size! And since many of them are local sustainable/organic/chemical-free growers, you just know that it was all good!

The dancing was a total hoot. They had a small band and caller who taught and led the crowd in contra dancing. It was one of the warmest feelings of community that I've experienced in a long time. And there was a lot of movement, so I tried to capture the dancing with as much movement as possible in the images. (For the techies: I used shutter drag and 2nd curtain flash sync to capture the moving backgrounds/surround while still keeping the main subjects reasonably well-frozen.)

Thanks for having me, Hannah and Daniel!
